2020 Mercedes-AMG F1 Team Jacket

This is the new official 2020 F1 Team Lightweight Padded Jacket from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, and it looks incredible. The 100% nylon construction is reminiscent of those great Style Auto and Swingster racing jackets from the 70s and 80s. The jacket features the teams’ sponsors on the front, arms, and back. While the red, white, and blue stripes of sponsor Tommy Hilfiger decorate the cuff of each arm, and the back/inside of the jacket’s collar. [...]

‘Ford v Ferrari’ Perfect Lap Tour: Shelby Cars & Legends

Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending the ‘Ford v Ferrari’ Perfect Lap Tour at Carroll Shelby’s facility in Gardena, California. The tour served as a promotion for the two-time Academy Award winning film’s release on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD and brought together some of the movie cars, stunt drivers, and real-life stars of the film for a public “meet and greet”. The experience began as soon as you walked through the main gate [...]

McLaren M6A Can-Am Coffee Maker and Grinder by Drive Coffee

Given the recent attempt by McLaren to qualify for the Indy 500, it’s easy to forget just how dominant the team was in North American racing. Case in point, the McLaren M6A Can-Am car that this coffee maker and grinder customized by Drive Coffee is inspired by. The McLaren M6A in a Nutshell The M6A ushered in a couple of firsts for McLaren: it was the first car to feature the now-iconic papaya orange livery and it was [...]

1961 Monaco Grand Prix Shirt

We really like this 1961 Monaco Grand Prix shirt designed by the user VintageRacing on TeePublic. It features the top three finishers from the 1961 event, which has gone down as a classic in the history of Formula 1. The 1961 Monaco Grand Prix The ’61 Monaco GP is Sir Stirling Moss’s greatest drive of his career (even Moss himself admits it). Moss drove in the increasingly obsolete Lotus-Climax campaigned by Rob Walker, which was significantly underpowered in [...]

1991/2 AAR-Toyota Mk III GTP Turbo Air Inlet

This turbo air inlet off a '91/'92 AAR-Toyota Eagle MkIII GTP car is currently for sale on eBay, and man, do we want it. A Very Brief History of the Part The carbon fiber inlet was used in the MkIII driven by both Juan Manuel Fangio II and PJ Jones at its debut late in the 1991 IMSA season. It continued to be used on both cars for the first seven races of the 1992 season, which included wins at [...]

Heel Tread Racing-Inspired Novelty Socks

After years of novelty socks that depict owls, sloths, coffee cups, and other modern obsessions, there’s finally some intended for the racing fan. Heel Tread (clever name, no?) designs take influence from iconic cars and racing liveries, such as the Mazda 787B seen in our featured image. Other favorites of ours include designs based off the Lotus 49 F1 car from the 1960s, Senna’s helmet, the tartan “Clark Plaid” seats found in the GTI, and of course the [...]

LEGO Ferrari F40 Competizione

If you didn’t get a chance to pick up the large 1,000-piece LEGO Ferrari F40, you have a second chance to still get a LEGO version. Part of the fantastic Speed Champions line that includes many fine racecars, collector cars, and exotics, this LEGO is significantly smaller than its predecessor – about a 1/24 scale as opposed to 1/18 - but so is the hit on your wallet. Instead of the $100 price tag, you’re looking at only [...]

IMSA 50th Anniversary Past Cars Poster

IMSA celebrated its 50thAnniversary last year. To honor the occasion, they released a ton of great commemorative merchandise items. But out of the many wonderful items for sale, one seemed to stand out just that much more – this poster. The poster features a stylized depiction of iconic IMSA racers from the BMW 3.0 CSL to the current Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi and everything awesome in-between. Sure, you can find this artwork on other IMSA merchandise items like [...]

Funko Pop! NASCAR Vinyl Figures

The pop-culture collectible company Funko has released many sports icons in their “Pop!” vinyl figures collection but has never included racing as one of the sports – until now. Mario Andretti 50th Anniversary STP Tee

Surprisingly, Mario Andretti won the Indy 500 only once during his career. The year was 1969, exactly 50 years ago, and the Lotus he originally planned to drive had failed significantly during practice. After a heavy 150mph impact that bruised and burned the Italian-American, the only car left was “The Hawk” – a Brabham chassis clone that mechanic Clint Brawner had modified. The car had served him well a month before in a race at Hanford, and Andretti [...]
